Agnese GemTS
My story and my research
My practice stems from the intersection of body, image, and territory. I've explored diverse languages, from collective action to urban space, from physical matter to immersive technologies, following a thread that unites transformation, listening, and presence.
My journey has been built on movement: cities, countries, cultures, and communities have shaped my creative approach. Each place has left its mark, each experience has opened a new level of interpretation of reality. Today, I work by intertwining physical and digital dimensions, constructing narratives that oscillate between personal myth, contemporary symbols, and expanded reality.

I am Agnese Gemetto, visual artist, sculptor, curator and digital designer .
My practice arises from matter and expands into symbol, metamorphosis, and technology as a language.
I have an academic background in Fine Arts (Accademia Albertina in Turin), an Art High School, and over twenty years of experience in the artistic, curatorial, and multimedia fields.
After an initial journey through urban collectives, performances, and editorial projects in Italy, Spain, and France, I lived in Finland for seven years, where I taught art, curated exhibitions, and founded RubyFever Oy, a startup dedicated to XR production, NFTs, and immersive environments.
Here my research transformed: I integrated avatars, augmented reality, virtual galleries, and symbolic narration, developing a visual ecosystem that unites myth, technology, and fluid identities.
I have exhibited in international contexts such as NFT NYC, Blockchain Futurist Conference (Toronto), Goat Studio Gallery, Museum of Wild and Newfangled Art (NYC), MatchXR / Slush (Helsinki), and in numerous exhibitions in Italy, including Cavallerizza Irreale, Les Amantes, AH!LAB and independent spaces.
I received the Taike Art Grant in 2022 and have participated in cultural and urban innovation projects.
I speak fluent Italian, English, Spanish, and French, and have basic skills in Finnish.
I received a certificate from Shortcut, the business academy of the Maria01 startup village in Helsinki, and an Agile certificate from Minna Learn, and I participated in the mentoring program at Tech Nordic Advocacy, women in tech, which allows me to integrate artistic vision and strategic planning.
WHAT DO I DO NOW
My current work moves between physical and digital practices, building worlds, characters, and narratives that span multiple levels of reality. I develop projects that combine sculpture, image, technology, and territory, with a constant focus on the relationship between body, environment, and symbol.
I work with:
sculpture and installation , as forms of presence and transformation
digital art, avatars and expanded identities
augmented reality and XR projects , which open up new ways of inhabiting space
symbolic storytelling and worldbuilding, to create visual ecosystems and contemporary mythologies
curatorship and creative direction , in dialogue with artists, communities and institutions
territorial projects , which intertwine journey, memory and landscape
teaching and training , with courses that combine practice, research and experimentation
My work is born from the intersection of imagination, technology, and cultural roots, and develops as a process of continuous metamorphosis.
My research arises from the desire to give shape to what moves between the levels of reality: the visible, the invisible, the symbolic, the digital .
I work as if each project were a living organism.
Among the symbols that run through my work, Testa Seme is the most constant: an archetypal figure that returns as origin, presence, and possibility. It is a Testa-Seme , an essential form that holds transformations and regenerates itself in every medium, from drawing to sculpture, from performance to digital experimentation. Testa Seme is my way of thinking about identity as something fluid, layered, in constant metamorphosis.
I'm interested in metamorphosis : what changes, what transforms, what passes through multiple states . This is why my work oscillates between sculpture and avatar, between physical gesture and augmented reality, between territory and imagination. Each language is a threshold , a different way of inhabiting the world.
My process is a mix of listening, layering, and worldbuilding, where myth , culture , and emerging technologies coexist as part of the same breath.
My path has been shaped through practices and languages that have left different traces over time.
Among these, Testa Seme is one of the most constant presences: an archetypal figure born from drawing and grown in sculpture, performance and digital experimentation.
It is a seed-head, a nucleus of transformation that returns as a symbol and as a method.
Over the years I have developed a sculptural practice that combines different materials such as plaster, resins, pigments, and natural elements, and which thrives on a direct relationship with gesture and material.
For me, sculpture is a place of listening, a slow time in which form emerges through layering and intuition.
At the same time, I've worked with video and music, collaborating with musicians and performers to create live visuals , audiovisual narratives, and visual identities. Among these experiences, creating the vinyl LP cover for Turin-based singer-songwriter Andrea Serenrosso was a significant moment: an encounter between image and sound that gave shape to a physical, ritual object, meant to be touched, listened to, and treasured.
These symbolic, material and collaborative roots continue to nourish my work, dialoguing with the digital and cultural research I carry out today.

Main projects
ARche Project
The ARche Project began as an exploration of the relationship between urban memory and contemporary imagination. Through Augmented Reality, Helsinki's statues are transformed into narrative presences: figures that speak, move, and reveal themselves. The project combines public art, XR technology, and local research, creating a dialogue between history, myth, and urban space.
Polku
Polku is an artistic journey that intertwines journey, symbols, and transformation. It's a project born from the experience of the Nordic landscape and its ability to transform our perspective. Polku explores the relationship between body, territory, and narrative, transforming movement in space into a creative and ritual act.
RubyFever Oy
RubyFever is the multimedia startup I co-founded in Finland, dedicated to developing immersive experiences, avatars, and digital environments. Within the team, I oversaw creative direction, concept design, and visual identity, working on XR projects, virtual galleries, and digital storytelling. RubyFever represents the most experimental side of my work, where technology and imagination meet to generate new worlds.

Current activities and future directions
Today my work develops on multiple fronts, in dialogue with territories, communities, and digital practices.
I carry on Polku, a project that unites path, symbols and transformation,
and I support researchers and professionals in the creation of websites and in the organization
of webinars and training courses.
I continue to teach art through individual lessons and workshops, keeping alive the relationship with the transmission of creative processes and visual language.
After my return to Italy, I am looking for
a new laboratory where sculptural production can resume: a physical space
let me get back to the subject,
to the gesture and construction of forms
three-dimensional, in dialogue with the
digital research that I carry out.

My work continues to evolve , following a rhythm that unites research, territory, and imagination . Each project is a transition, a way to explore new forms of presence and new narrative possibilities, between matter, digital, and journey.
I'm open to collaborations, dialogues, and shared paths with artists, researchers, institutions, and organizations that believe in experimentation and transformation. My studio, whether physical or digital, is a place in motion, where ideas, people, and languages can converge and generate new worlds .
